Events for all ages at LaVallee Centennial

Plans are being finalized for "Fun Galore in 2004" at the LaVallee Centennial Celebrations. There are many different activities planned. Some of these include the logger competition.

This event is being hosted by Gaston Godbout and Kelvin Caul. If you are interested in participating in this event you can contact Gaston at 274-5036. It is necessary to let them know that you will be participating so that they can ensure they have enough supplies. Some of the activities they are planning are the one man buck-saw, power-saw cuts, two man cross cut saw, chair carving, axe throw and wood chopping. Many would have seen both Gaston and Kelvin compete in the Rainy River District Fall Fair Logger Competition so be prepared to see some real experience at work. Please ensure that if you have, bring along your safety equipment we are promoting safety first. This will be a great place to show off your skills or give it a try for the first time. This event will take place on Saturday July 3rd, 2004, 2:00p.m. at the Devlin Ball Park.

Another event that has proven to be a lot of fun is the farmer competition. This is hosted by the Hyatt family. Have you ever had the urge just to toss that fry pan across the room, well now is your chance? The list of fun is never ending. Spike pounding, rolling pin toss, fry pan toss, egg toss, are some of the items from the list. Come to the Devlin Ball Park on Saturday July 3rd, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. to join in the fun. To register for this event contact Shawn Hyatt at 486-3479. Again we would like to have some type of idea so we can be prepared with supplies.

Along with the above we will have, races, races and still more races that are being planned for the old fashion games. The organizers for this event are Norman and Nancy Cain. They have sack races, 3 legged races, relay races, egg and spoon and a huge tug of war planned for the centennial celebrations. Come prepared to take part and have all kinds of fun.

All we ask is that you register for the weekend by completing the registration form that is available by cutting it from your newspaper or picking up a copy at the Municipal office, Greensides store, Devlin post office, Dev-Lynne&Mac226;s, or from any committee member. Take the time to fill out the form and mail it in to so we can get you counted as a participant of "Fun Galore in 2004!
